Ka'anapali Beach Resort Information
The Ka'anapali Beach Resort is where the "World comes to play". In ancient times, Maui's royalty, the Ali'i, delighted in Ka'anapali's perfect three-mile white sand beach, gentle waves and always-sunny weather. Ka'anapali is 10 minutes from the Kapalua West Maui Airport, which Island Air services with frequent flights from dawn to dusk. Ka'anapali is only 30 minutes by air from Honolulu on the island of Oahu.
Special Events
There are great special events for visitors of all ages and interests in or near Ka'anapali. In the early winter, we enjoy the Festival of Hula, the Chinese New Year Celebration, a WhaleFest week and the Maui Marathon. Summer time brings exciting events such as the Maui Music Festival. In Celebration of Canoes, the King Kamehameha Day Parade, the Keiki (children's) Fishing Derby, the Fourth of July Celebration and the Maui Onion Festival. In the fall the fun begins with the Taste of Lahaina followed by the EMC Ka'anapali Classic Senior PGA Golf Tournament, the Maui Mardi Gras (Halloween) and the Hula O Na Keiki (children's hula). The winter line up starts with the Maui Invitational Basketball Tournament which is followed by the Festival of Art and Flowers, Na Mele O Maui and the Ka'anapali Kalikimaka (a Christmas Event for children).
Activities
There are exciting activities available in Ka'anapali. Board a sailing Catamaran from the beach for a snorkel trip, a whale watch or a romantic sunset sail. See Ka'anapali from a higher perspective by parasailing or gliding down a zip line. For golfers there are two championship golf courses. Shoppers will stay busy at Whalers Village with its many shops and restaurants. For evening amusement there are torch lighting ceremonies, Polynesian luaus, lighted tennis courts or astronomy shows to choose from.
Environment
Ka'anapali Beach Resort and its 3 miles of white sandy beach, is the place to perfect your tan. The warm water becons a swim in the gentle waves or surf during a South Swell. To see tropical fish, snorkel or scuba at Black Rock, the beach with its spectacular sunsets and views of Molokai or Lanai is ideal for long romantic walks. There is plenty of shade to sit and watch the world, or even a whale. (December through March). The Sugar Cane Train, a genuine steam locomotive, can provide a nostalgic and historic tour through Ka'anapali.
