What if I need to make a change to or cancel a vacation package?

Should plans change, our travel services partners can assist in updating your itinerary. For changes after purchase please contact Online Travel Services at 866-444-4352 or 808-738- 3898. They can also be emailed Service hours are Monday to Friday 6 am to 5:30 pm, and Saturday 9 am to 1 pm, HST.

What are accepted forms of payment?

Booking flights and checking in bags is completely cash-free. Flights can be processed online, at the airport, or by contacting reservations. Baggage is processed at the airport during check-in. Cash-free transactions ensure a more efficient check-in and make getting to your destination even quicker. All major credit and debit cards accepted including Master Card, Visa, American Express, Japan Credit Bureau (JCB) and Discover.

Does Island Air provide seat assignments?

Island Air assigns seats upon check-in, there is no preselection available. A row and seat number will be printed on your ticket. Flight attendants can assist in locating assigned seats when boarding. Island Air does offer a courtesy pre-boarding opportunity for families with children under the age of 5, military in uniform, and any passengers who may need a little more time and assistance in boarding the aircraft.

What if I need assistance on my day of travel?

Day of departure issues are handled by the airport staff.  Please see a Customer Service Agent should you need assistance. If you are not at the airport, please contact our reservation department at (800) 652-6541, open (6:00am to 9:00pm HST).

What is required to send freight on Island Air?

At this time, Island Air is does not accept freight on its aircraft.  

Do employees of the military receive any additional benefits?

Yes. Certain fees are waived for members and their families. Visit our Military page for details.

Do you have a frequent flier program?

Yes. The Island Miles program is available for all travelers. Visit the Island Miles page for details on program benefits. 

What are the policies for traveling with infants?

There is no charge for one child under 2 years old, accompanied by an adult fare-paying passenger and not occupying a seat. Infants occupying a seat must be placed in an approved infant safety seat. There is no baggage charge for car seats, child booster seats or strollers. Please refer to “Infant on Board” for complete details.

What are the baggage limits?

You may bring ONE (1) carry-on bag (not to exceed 16 lbs.) and ONE (1) personal item. All checked bags are limited to a maximum weight of 50 lbs./22 kg. For tickets purchased after November 15, 2016, the first checked bag is assessed a fee of $25 and $35 for each additional bag thereafter. Island Miles members will receive a discounted rate of $15 for the first checked bag, $20 for the second checked bag and $35 for additional checked baggage.  Visit our Baggage page for more details.  

What time do I need to check in at the airport?

You are required to check in at least 90 minutes before your scheduled departure and be at the boarding gate at least 30 minutes prior to departure. If you are not present 20 minutes prior to scheduled departure time, your reservation may be canceled (checking in over the phone is not permitted).

What if I can’t make a flight?

Customers are required to cancel their reservation prior to flight departure to avoid loss of the ticket. If not canceled in advance, tickets will not retain value towards future travel as stated in Contract of Carriage Rule 105 – Ticket Validity. Additional fees apply.

How can I make, change or cancel a reservation?

Changes and cancellations can be made online by visitng our Onine Reservations System or by calling 1-800-652-6541. Additional fees apply for phone reservations.

What kind of aircraft does Island Air fly?

Island Air operates a fleet of new 78 seat Bombardier Q400 turboprob aircraft. These feature all-leather seating, overhead compartments, air conditioning, and comfortably pressurized cabins.
