Under “Learning for Life,” an affiliate of the Boy Scouts of America, Island Air has assumed the Aviation Explorer Post #2437 formerly held by Aloha Airlines. Island Air is proud to provide this opportunity to students with an interest in aviation careers, and to carry on the legacy left by Aloha Airlines.
The Island Air Explorer Program is offered to students between the ages of 14 and 20. In addition to learning about aviation-related careers, the 10-week program is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience directly from those who perform such functions everyday.
In the fall, Island Air provides Explorer packets to all Oahu public and most private school career counselors. These packets contain information about the program, applications, and a description of the application process.
