Where does Island Air fly?

Island Air is Hawaii’s leading regional carrier offering departures between Honolulu and the islands of Moloka’i, Lana’i, Maui (Kapalua and Kahului), Kaua’i (Lihu’e) and the “Big Island” of Hawai’i (Kona and Hilo). Island Air serves more destinations in Hawai’i than any other airline and offers more non-stop service between neighbor island destinations than any other scheduled airline in the state. Island Air’s two hubs are Honolulu and Kahului. Island Air is the only scheduled Part 121 carrier serving Kapalua, Lana’i and Moloka’i.

What kind of aircraft does Island Air fly?

Island Air operates a fleet of 37-seat DASH-8 aircraft. These turboprop planes have earned a solid reputation for outstanding reliability and safety. The aircraft features all-leather seating, large overhead compartments, air conditioning, and comfortably pressurized cabins. They are ideal for high-frequency, short-haul routes that serve small community airports like those that Island Air serves.

How can I make a reservation?

Booking a reservation is easy. Log onto islandair.com and click the “Reservations” option or call 484-2222 (O’ahu), 800-652-6541 (neighbor islands and North America).

How can I change or cancel a reservation?

Changes and cancellations can be made online by clicking here or by calling Reservations. Changes to flight or travel dates on restricted fare tickets will incur an additional fee per flight segment and must be collected upon change of reservation.

What is required to make a reservation for travel on Y and H coupons?

Bookings made by Island Air Reservations or a travel agent require a 13 or 14-digit number entered into the reservation within 24-hours or seats will be subject to cancellation.

What if I can’t make a flight?

Island Air requires customers to cancel their reservation prior to flight departure to avoid loss of ticket value. No Show passengers’ e-tickets will not retain value towards future travel as stated in Contract of Carriage Rule 105 – Ticket Validity.

What time do I need to check in at the airport?

You are required to check in at least 60 minutes before your scheduled departure from Honolulu, Moloka’i, Lana’i and Kapalua, and at least 90 minutes before your scheduled departure from Hilo, Kona, Kahului and Lihue, and be at the boarding gate at least 15 minutes prior to departure. If you are not present 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure time your reservation may be cancelled. Valid photo identification is required at check-in.

Do you have a frequent flier program?

Yes. Island Air’s CLOUD 9 Customer Rewards Program allows customers to earn a free one way flight when they have flown nine paid segments. For more information, please visit www.islandair.com/cloudnine.

What are the baggage limits?

You may bring ONE personal item (e.g., purse, camera, jacket) on board the aircraft. Carry-on baggage must be small enough to store under the seat or in an overhead compartment. Free checked-in baggage allowance for tickets purchased prior to July 3,2008, is TWO pieces not to exceed 50lbs./22kg. total. For tickets purchased on/after July 3, 2008, free checked-in baggage allowance is ONE piece at a maximum weight of 50 lbs./22 kg. No checked-in item should be longer than 96 in./244 cm. Excess weight and oversized items (e.g., surfboards, bicycles, kennels) will incur an additional fee and will only be accommodated if space is available.

5th checked bag and higher: $35 per piece
